The IT sector is a dynamically developing part of the city’s economy. Together with the Tri-City, it ranks 4th in Poland in terms of the number of centers, where approx. 30 thousand people work. IT and R&D dominate in Gdynia. Among others, Asseco Data System, Refinitiv, DNV GL, have their headquarters or centers here. Gdynia’s business landscape is also filled with many smaller but innovative businesses. For example, the Polish branch of Amazon origins from a start-up Ivona Software that developed innovative text to speech software in Pomeranian Science and Technology Park in Gdynia.
